Special Assignment Indicator in IT 0001

Dear,

My client want to have some indicator in Infotype 0001 “Organization Assignment” shows that this employee is working overseas or on special assignment, without changing any of his existing integrated Enterprise or Personnel Structures?

Any idea? To include "new" field in Personnel Structure? Or if there is another standard infotype for this?

Hi Abdul,

You have Work contract in IT0001 under personnel structure.

External Organizational Assignment

In the following steps you make additional settings for the infotypes External Organizational Assignment (0395) and Attributes of Overseas Assignments (0396):

You name the personnel areas to which you are assigning employees or from which you are receiving them within the framework of an overseas assignment.

You name the personnel subareas to which you are assigning employees or from which you are receiving them within the framework of an overseas assignment.

You enter data relating to the work contracts that these employees had in their previous personnel area/subarea or that they now have in their new personnel area/subarea.

You define the administrator groups and administrators that are responsible for the different aspects of human resources administration in the old or new personnel area/subarea.

You define the types of overseas assignments that you have in your enterprise.

These definitions are only necessary if you are assigning employees to or receiving them from such enterprises that are not already present in your organizational structure

Thanks … very helpful answers, but I have a concern here, Org.Unit External & External Position fields are open text only? So HR shall maintain this manually?

also can you advise please what is the benefits of using this infotype rather than developing a new custom field in infotype 0001, I personally believe that using an existing feature is better than creating new one.

Hi Abdul,

The need to mantain an additional infotype is just onle optional.We have one filed that is External Work contract you can have them Expatriates.

You need not even customise the infotype for a new field.

Check table V_T530E from Transaction code SM30.

Dear all,

Even my client requirement is also the same but this is about country - state.

Employee is working in Hyderabad but base location is Bangalore.

So, they have taken personnel area - Bangalore

Pesonnel Sub area - Operational

Now, they want an identification of an employee as belonged to Hyderabad.

Pls, suggest me.
