AWS SAP HANA One

Hi,

I am working on a SAP HANA SaS solution for a DR/BC architecture and found that in AWS Marketplace the SAP HANA One is no longer available.

Could you please inform if there is any alternative for using HANA as a service in AWS including the licensing?

My use case is for providing a pilot light Disaster Recovery solution for a HANA/B1 on premises architecture. I am not familiar with the SAP licensing policy so I am assuming I need to have a second license for operating an alternative site. Therefore the AWS Marketplace offer looks appealing to me.

I wish you just answered my question instead of suggesting me using Azure. In fact my question is:

"Could you please inform if there is any alternative for using HANA as a service in AWS including the licensing?"

My intention is knowing if SAP HANA in AWS Marketplace will be back available or if a new licensing would be made available there.

I certainly know that Azure exist but the alternative of using it is out of the scope of my question.

Willy - licensing questions should be taken directly to the SAP Account Executive on your account; this is not something the community can assist with.

Azure is another alternative to AWS if you want to review options there.

Hi Tammy!

SAP HANA One on Amazon is self-serve thing, kinda like HANA Express Edition . You buy it through the Amazon Marketplace and everything is installed automatically. The business model is a bit different: instead of buying a license, you pay per hour of usage.

SAP HANA One does come with a HANA license built-in (usually valid for 1 year), but it gets renewed automatically by the software. There's no SAP Account Executive or anything like that.

This year, the license was not updated automatically, and it has expired! So right now, when you install HANA One on AWS, you can't actually use the thing. Some people have already started to complain in the comments, giving it a 1 start rating.

The listing on the AWS marketplace tells people to go to this community for support questions on HANA One so I guess that's why Willy was asking about this here...

But I have the same question: Is HANA One no longer supported? Will there be an update to it soon?
