Info Record: Plant Vs Purchasing Org Level

Hi,

Prsently the info records are created at Plant level and it is thought of to create the info records at Purchasing org level to reduce data entry (in ME11).

1) Which Info record taken precedence while getiing copied in PO creation - the one at Plant Level or the one at Purchasing Org Level ? Assumption is for the same materil - vendor combination two such info records are created in ME11.

2) What could be the impact of creating the Info record only at Purchasing org level in terms of PO processing?

For example - Say any plant specific detail that is copied only from the Plant Level Info record and would not be available in case of using Purchasing level info Record?

Please explain. Points would be rewarded.

levels of inforecord r 3

1 client

2 pur org

3 pur org and plant

system search for 3rd then 2nd and then 1st

when u talk of client level this will be applicable for all same materials with in ur all company codes under one clients

when u talk of 2nd level this will be applicable for all same materials with in all ur plants assigned to single pur org

when u talk of 3rd level this will be applicable for materials in ur plant for a specific pur org , if u have same material in diff plant with diff pur org u have to create new inforecord

What still remain unanswered are:

1) Is there any fields / data points deiffernce between Plant level and Purchasing Org Level Info Records?

2) Will there be any impact on the exisitng Plant Level info record, if we create another info record at the Purchauisng Org level?

Hi,,

Refer to query 1-- if you maintain the info record at purchase org. level, the price and conditions can be adopted by all the palnts assingned to the pur org,,

If you maintain at the plant specific info record ,, only relavent plant can adopt that info record.

refer to query 2: if you maintain both,, plant level info record has the priority over purcahse org info ,, and plant level info record gets updated.

frist its in combination of pur org and plant

ans 1) there is no diffrence in the fields just the matter of application area

ans2) if u assign both palntpo and only po then the poplant combination ifo record will get accepted frist
