HI,

Q) What is PCK and why u go for PCK:

Partner Connectivity kit (PCK), is used by small business partners/ companies to exchange XML documents with the large business partner’s SAP-XI. It is capable of picking up data from various sources like file, DB, Messaging software’s using the adapters (provide in PCK) like File, JDBC, JMS etc.. And forward them to the Integration server for further Processing. When defining the flow of messages that are processed by the PCK, one of the end points is always SAP Exchange Infrastructure.

The PCK of the smaller business partner receives a message from its system landscape and converts the format of the message to XI message protocol. The message is forwarded to the Integration Server for further processing.

To forward XML messages from the Integration Server to a receiver business system in the system landscape of the smaller business partner, the PCK of the business partner receives the message, converts it into the format required by the receiver system, and then forwards the message. The PCK contains the following adapters:

· RFC Adapter

· File Adapter

· JMS Adapter

· JDBC Adapter

· SOAP Adapter

· SAP Business Connector Adapter

· Mail Adapter

· XI Adapter

Example

An SAP business system needs to send a message to a smaller business partner.

· The message is sent in XI message protocol from the Integration Server to the PCK.

· The PCK uses the file adapter to convert the XI message format to the format of the connected business system of the smaller business partner.

· The PCK sends the file to the business system.

Hi,

PCK is nothing but Partner Connectivity Kit.

The name itself explains the Purpose of it.

If in generally we speak means, One big Organization can have the regional offices or subsidiaries and also wants to talk with small organizations in terms of which wants to exchange the XML messages.

Then this time those subsidiaries will have the PCK's at their end and the Partner( Big Org) will send the data through SAP XI to Subsidiaries

Then these PCK's will receive those XML messages and do the necessary process at their end and finally post it into receiver application.
