In SAP ByD: What is the purpose of "Allow Negative Stock"

Dear SAP ByD Expert,

What if the purpose to check "Allow Negative Stock" in Location setup?

Is it allowed to execute Post Goods Issue from this site?

Hi Tandy

Identified stock you need maintain in system , it is missing therefore system generating error.
work centre- Planning and Production Master Data >> New Identified Stock from common task and fill required information .

Now you can try to do the same process . Hope now error will fixed.

Hi

It will allow the system to issue goods from this location, even when there is no stock. You can issue 5 pieces from a location that has only 3 pieces. The result will be -2. You should always try to set this quantity to zero or positive asap.

Thank you for your answer.

According to my previous question, I have a case as the following:

- Company sell subcontract services to manufacture a finished product

- But some of the raw materials comes from its customer

- Meanwhile SAP ByD is not allowed to receive goods without preceding document (i.e PO),

- Therefore I create a dummy site (which allow negative stock) and currently stock on hand = 0. Then I generate stock transfer order from it to main site.

- However I face the following error:

Kindly advice what I missed to configure (the system unable to select the warehouse/storage I configured before).
