Error in starting SAP GUI

Hello everybody,

i have got a problem with my SAP. I wanted to learn ABAP, so i installed a local SAP-System at home (I am new). I made it exactly with this tutorials:

Everything gone right, but i can't login to my SAP-System. When i want to enter it, i always get this error:

connection to partner '' broken

WSAECONNRESET: Connection reset by peer

I installed SAP on my local computer, then on my laptop. I also renewed Windows for this. I turned off the firewall. Everytime, it doesn't matter, if it is the laptop or the computer, i always get this error.

2 Days ago, the SAP GUI and ABAP worked but since yesterday, i always get this error and i changed nothing.

It would be great, if someone has got the solution. Thanks.

There is no connection to your system / server. We also get same message when our SAP is down.

If you just google "WSAECONNRESET" you'll find very many posts about this. Most will pertain to actual productive SAP systems and network issues but they do provide some general information. In your case, assuming SAP is installed locally, I'm guessing server is not running or there is some kind of Windows problem. For example, in the blog you've referenced there are instructions for starting and stopping the server, have you tried that?

Make some effort to troubleshoot this and then come back with more specific questions, if any.

Edit: also both title and primary tag is incorrect. This is not SAP GUI problem as I'm guessing GUI runs just fine. It's a connection issue. If you tag this with Netweaver instead and change the title to "SAP Developer Edition connection issue" then you'll be more likely to attract the SCN members with the respective knowledge.
