Update Type (ODS to ODS)

Hi,

We have a Source ODS ( ODS1) which is feed by 2LIS_11_VAITM.

And now we are building another ODS (ODS2) on top of it.

and the update mode will be Delta from ODS1 to ODS2.

Now can somebody throw somelight on which Update type has to be selected while Updating keyfigures?

is this overwrite or Addition.

Please explain your view

Regards

Ajay

    HI,

It will be OVERWRITE because delta records come from CHANGE LOG table, as 8ODS supports delta and change log table gives new image before image after image u can opt for over write for key figure updating.

if data source is giving only after image then u have to go for additive.

    thanks,

    pavan.

    Dear Ajay,

The update type ,,u need to do depends upon the scenario..

If the key figures are of cumulative type..then addition will be the corrrect option..Ex..Sales volume

If the key figures are of type non cumulative,,,then over write would be the best choice..Ex.Head Count.

Hope this answer is helful to u...

    Assign points if needful...

    Best regards,

    VVenkat..
