Is VDATU (Statistics Update Date) current date?

Can any one let me know how VDATU (Statistics Update Date) fiild from R/3 works. We are using this field for our input parameter for each report to input the date and time...We map this field for all the time objects (0calyear,0calmonth etc...). In Producation we are able to see the update values(Changed date / current date) for this field. But in Dev we are getting always created on date ...So when I execute the report for march 2008 its giving no applicable data in Dev...Do I need to change any settings in R/3 / BI to update this VDATU with correct value?

Dev data wouldnt be close as Prod data as no one posts or changes the doc so often;

The thing you need to do here is to check for which document you want this value to be changed..like is it a sales order or billing doc.. confirm this first.

Later log on to R/3 if you have authorization to transcations for VA02 etc and try to change some field and save it.

Then do what you were trying to accomplish
