what is '$sync' command use for?

Hi everybody.

I'm just curious about what is '$sync' command use for?

what happend if I use that command?

and what kind of purpose to use this one?

and how can I search forum using special character like '$' or '#' '&' .

seems searching doesn't work when I tried with that character.

can someone give me a hint?

Hi,

This command synchonizes the SAP buffers between the different SAP instances (CI and DI) in the same SAP system.

You use it if you don't want to wait for the automatic synchronization but this has a performance cost. So don't use it on production unless no other choice.

what performance cost will be happen if we use '$sync'?

is this not good use frequently for reduce delay time while CTS on production?

Hi Siddesh,

The Help link is a little pessimistic IMHO. I've never seen 1 hour to reload the buffers but never more than 5 minutes which is already too long to slow down the production system !

me too.. even i haven't seen such long sync time.. but that's SAP telling you in its documentation, so be it
