Former Member

Hi guys,

I've

1. Created a new Portal Desktop in folder A

2. Added theme and a modified framework to it

3. Went to Portal Content> Portal Admin > Super Admin and added new expression to Rule Collection: IF user=abc THEN Portal Desktop = pcd:/portal_content/..../folderA/desktop

But no effects when i login as user abc. I've also searched the forum for such threads and have tried the recommendations but stil yet not changes. Can anyone help pls?

Hi

I think you need to check the rule collection.( check if you are giving the right username and password for the user whom the desktop is being created, i mean check for the username and password,it is case sensitive and you need to provide the right one.).

  • please reward , if useful..

The expression is at the top of the rule collection and in terms of the caps-sensitivity, I've saved it in capital letters but when i exit and re-enter again, it is in small letters. Any problem there?

As for clearing the cache, the navigation caches are currently not enabled. Thus, nothing to clear.

Hi zhenmin wang,

As you said after creating a portal desktop and rule collection ,you should have to

add an if expression to Main rule collection as in rule collection. U can find this master

rule collection under system admin>portal display>desktops&display rules>portal content>

portal admin>super admin>mainrule collection.

There you can add an if expression as if user=abc then portaldesktop=(ur desktop). But here make sure of that user that you are adding to this expression is same as the existing user in ur user admin as it case sensitive. i mean to say, whther

it is ABC or abc. so for this u jst check it in useradmin for that particular user and specify it correctly then only that portal desktop would get reflects to ur user. i think it'll solve your problem.

Wang,

Try to check the order of the expressions in the rule collection.

Try to see that no other expression overwrites the user expression.

See that user expression is above all other gorups (In which he is a member) or *.
