How to send document to private folder

I have a Smartform report that I convert to a pdf and send to a recipient's SAP Office inbox documents folder with fm SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1. I then call fm SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT to create a workflow item for the recipient that has a link for opening the pdf.

My problem is that if the recipient sets private office settings of Business Workplace to automatically forward to an external email address (for example) without keeping a copy in their inbox, the link in the workflow workitem cannot find the document.

Another situation that causes the same problem is using tcode SO16, under the Mail.sy.grp tab, the option "Send to home address of users" is chosen. This causes all inbox documents from SAPOffice to be sent to the user's email address (Lotus Notes address in their profile). Again, the workitem link cannot find the document.

Is there a way to send the pdf to a different SAP Office folder (private or shared) and let the link connect to it there? Or can the pdf be delivered to a private or shared folder of the sender and let the recipient's workflow item link to it?

Thanks for your help

Ron

when you are sending the document using FM SO_NEW to the recipient, then why do you need a WORKITEM again with the link?

Thanks for the reply, but what does this get me? Everything seems to be running fine without it.

I get a run-time error with this code:

" In the function module interface, you can specify only

fields of a specific type and length under "CONTAINER".

      Although the currently specified field

"WF_CONT" is the correct type, its length is incorrect. "

      wf_cont is defined as

TYPE swr_cont OCCURS 0 WITH HEADER LINE.

I don't see how this will help sending a document to a private folder. Or is this a best practice that I'm missing?
