ESS DEV and QA connecting to the same SLD?

is it possible for different ESS/MSS Webdynpro applications (DEV, QA, PROD) to use the same SLD? would there be a conflict between the JCO destination names? the JCO destination names are standard (the same) for DEV, QA, PROD; just the JCO connection parameters are different... So how will Portal QA know to pull the QA JCO parameters and not the DEV JCO parameters?

You can certainly have the same JCO destination for many J2EE's. The JCO destination is stored under the system in the SLD and object wise is unique by GUID like all the SLD rather than by connection name.

We like having them local so they do not require the central SLD to be up, all that the portal uses in an SLD is the JCO and so defining a local one with the connecting system definitions and theJCO destinations is fine and it doe snot really even need patching.
