SF Recruiting - Onboarding


At my company CURRENTLY they use SAP and have created a new action type called Pre-Hire (it collects minimal data on prospective new employee) to just create the employee ID (PERNR) so that they can start the process of getting hardware (phone, laptop, etc.) ready, security badges, access to systems, etc. at this step the employee is 3-4 weeks before walking in the door. Then once the employee has passed a medical and background check they move them to the "hired" action, Once at this step the employee is in the door in 2-3 days. NOW they are going to SF Recruiting/Onboarding snd EC. Therefore they want to know of a way to get that employee ID while in recruiting before it moves to Onboarding so they can start the process described above that takes 3-4 weeks before the employee walks in the door. I thought of future dated hires but they said no cause they haven't passed the background check yet and they don't move them from Recruiting to Onboarding until they pass the checks. But to me what does that matter, if they fail the background check them terminate them in the system. Does anyone have another or better solution for this.
