Data Load Question - Production

Former Member

Hi,

I have done an Init load into an infocube for year 2006. It worked fine. I did a full load for the same selection criteria. I then deleted the fulll load request. I tried to do another init into the same cube for year 2007. I get errors:

Errors in source system RSM 340

Some of the initialization requirements have not been completed RSQU 20

Please advise how to resolve this ussue?

Thanks

You can only perform one init for a datasource<-->cube. Try using a full load for 2007 (flag as a repair to maintain your delta, which was set up by the initialization). Or, delete the Initialization Request for the first init (2006), and perfrom an init for the 2007 data.

Does this help?

Geo,

I did this till now:

1. I Still have INIT request for 2006.

2. I deleted the INIT request for 2007.

3. Did a FULL load for 2007. (Did not mark it as a repair)

4. Tried to do a DELTA for 2006. When I tried to schedule a delta, I get a message saying that the last delta failed. So, I will either have to request delta again or cancel. I clicked 'Request Again' button.

Again the DELTA request failed with the same error. (i.e. Incomplete Initialization requests)

Errors in source system RSM 340

Some of the initialization requirements have not been completed RSQU 20

The long text of the 2nd error:

Diagnosis

Not all the initialization requests have been completed yet for this

DataSource, or there may be an incorrect initialization request.

System Response

No delta requests can be processed whilst there is an initialization

request that has not been completed.

Procedure

Wait until the initialization request has finished, or delete the entry

for the incorrect initialization request from the corresponding display

in the Scheduler.

My question is, Will there be any issues if I perform these:

1. Do a FULL load for 2006.

2. Delete the INIT for 2006 request from the cube.

Since, some delta records are already in Delta Queue in R/3 Production, will doing a FULL retrieve those DELTA records? If Yes, I will go ahead and do a FULL and then delete the INIT for 2006.

Please advise.

Some questions: What datasource are you using? Is it a Logistics datasource? Are you using 3.5 or 7.0?

Since you have loaded some delta data, I think your best solution would be to start over (if possible).

Try this:

1. Delete all data in your cube.

2. On the intitialization infopackage, at the top select Scheduler --> Initialization Options for Source System. Highlight request and delete it. This will also delete the delta queue in your R/3 system.

3. Run full load for 2006.

4. Run full load for 2007.

5. Run init load for 2008, this will then set up your delta.

6. Run delta from then on.

Does this help?

Geo,

We are on BI 7. We are using PCA datasource. The Datasource feeds an infiocube. There is no DSO in between. We have not loaded any delta data yet. There is only one Reuqest (INIT) for year 2006. The Datasource has delta capability (ADDD). I don't have issues to start everything again. My only concern is since there are some delta records in the delta queue. If we don't extract those records into BW before deleting the Init request in the cube, won't we lose those records? Is it better doing a FULL load to retrieve all records including the DELTA records before deleting the INIT request?

Thanks

You can delete the data no need of keeping the INIT load if you have decided to go ahead with that approach on any case you can reload back the data from PSA if you just need the old data ,since the DELTA is not working for you in any case..

Try doing full loads having infopack splits by months say 3 months at a time for better performance.

Hope it Helps

If you are going to reinit, do not worry about the records in the delta queue. That data will now be extracted as part of your new "full". When preparing for delta, it is best to:

A. Load historical data using full loads and then run init (with no data or with last selection of histoical data), or run init with all historical data.

or

B. Run init first, and then run full loads (with repair flag). The repair flag is necessary so that the load will not interrupt the delta process.

Hope this helps.

Hi Sachin,

Since you have decided to reload the data from the begining, check this option.

1st :- Fill your set up table if it is LO. if not directly follow the

2nd step as given below.

2nd:- Run Init Without Data Trnsfer in to the Cube which will

set the time stamp for the deltas to flow after it.

3rd:- Run deltas as and when you feel that your delta Q would

have filled with data.

4th :- Since you have the selection criteria for the Repair full

requests, you can easily bring the historical Data into

the cube.

This way u need not to delay the deltas comming into BW.

Best Regards,

VNK.
