    hi,

    You can have any number of links in masthead. But restrict to few for a good look and feel. Check this document on how this link can be added,

    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/d07bf112-1705-2a10-1a9f-d0a705e550fa

    regards,

    Hi Mayank,

    For adding a new link in the masthead we need to modify a par file available at portal. (PCD). we have a par file named com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead.par file which can be obtained from system admin->support->portal runtime ->browse deployement ..just browse upon and find the par file.

    Now we need to import this file into NWDS. this contains 5 jsp files . headeriview.jsp is one of the file.

    Then open the file to find a htmlb code.

    check for this tye of code

    <TD nowrap >

    <!--<hbj:link id="http://hstepds:50000/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/password_login.password" tooltip="<%=helpTooltipStr%>" linkDesign="FUNCTION" reference="javascript:openHelp();"><hbj:textView nested="true" text="<%=helpTextStr%>"/></hbj:link> -->

    <hbj:link id="pwd" tooltip="....text of ur wish......" target="_parent"linkDesign="FUNCTION" reference=".....">

    <hbj:textView nested="true" text="......"/> </hbj:link>

    </TD>

    In the reference give the path of ur portal application deployed url like "/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/APPLICATION.COMPONENTAME'

    change the tooltip and text to wht u desire "Language" in ur case.

    Also include this inbetween two <TD></TD>say between help link and logoff it will be coded as two elements in a table

    <TD nowrap class="prtlHdrSep"> </TD>

    finally change the par file name of ur project to com.sap.portal.naviagtion.masthead and upload in the server for the changes to be reflecting in portal.path is system admin->support->portal runtime->administration console -> browse ur file and upload.

    this might solve ur problem.hope this will help u .

    Regards,

    Shaila

      hi Divya,

      the best way is to make a project from original par with out making any modifications to it. Add the required .jar file to it then deploy the par file check whether the original works fine only then make changes.

      Always remember to include the jar file for masthead the jar file is com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead_core.jar try this and see.

      It should work .

      Regards,

      Sanjyoti.
