    Hi,

Empty fields can be used when you want to use the existing map and your import file does not contain all the required fields. In such case you can add some empty fields (containing Null values) to make your import mapping consistent.

    Hi Mullapudi,

There are couple of scenarios where in you can use an empty fields,

    1) When you have a display field in destination which has to be mapped, and u dont have any matching in source.

    2) When you dont have proper data for the destination field and want to update it later.

    3) If you want to set some of the field values in destionation to null; then you can select the scenario as update all mapped fileds.

This are couple of scenaios and above said are two more; these are juse examples; depending upon your requirement you might use it some different way.

    Cheers,

    Charan

    Hi,

The Empty Fields is used when a field is missing from the Source and all the values in the Source are Null.

When this field is required, then we do not need to add this field in the Source. Infact, we can do this in Import Manager also. Provided the only Value in this source field is NULL

    1. Then You use this option of Empty Fields by Adding a Field in the Source hierarchy.

    2. Map the Added field to the Destination

    3. Map the Null Value to the Destination value.

For further understanding , Please refer page No- 90 & 228.

    Hope it helps.

    Thanks and Regards
