I have an R/3 4.7x2 Solaris/oracle system. Basically I have an consolidation system (3 years old).made by R3COPY.
Is there a shorcut to avoid R3copy procedure with installation..(some procedure of copy only...)
If I understood correctly http://www.basisconsultant.com/docs/handbooks/homcopyv1.pdf not being familiar with Oracle online/offline backup. Instead usually I stop SAP and database and copy :
/oracle
/usr/sap
/sapmnt
/usr/users/ recover database using backup controlfile until cancel;

Copying the binaries is NOT supported, you would need to copy oraIventory, /etc/opt/oracle (or /var/opt/oracle) and oraInst.loc and many other things to adapt. You will run into trouble if you try to use the new system for patch tests because the oraInventory has different information than the local installation.

Tina,
those are basically the steps.
this procedure does not take JAVA stack into account, you are probably just using the ABAP stack now, so this ain`t an issue.
if your system is using schema SAP[SID] instead of SAPR3, you wil lstill be using the original SID... same goes with tablespace names.
so, if you started with SAP R/4 4.6c or below, and then upgrade to 4.7, this won`t be an issue.
by the way, read the following topic:
consider using a system copy using the backup/restore method, it is much easier and less hassles.
the following doc gives you a good idea of the procedure:

R3COPY is a relic from R3SETUP. Nowadays, installation of 4.7 are done using sapinst and the corresponding ORABRCOPY.
Check the system copy guides at
http://service.sap.com/systemcopy, they have at least two procedures to copy a system.
