The Document Generation Wizard is really just a quick way of doing a Copy To for a batch of documents.

A good example is in sales. Your company might have a team that enters sales orders then another team that processes the deliveries. In B1 that means that you would have a lot of open Delivery documents that need to be invoiced.

You can use the Document Generation Wizard to select all the open deliveries and generate invoices. You can also do things like generate one invoice for all deliveries to a customer.

The generated documents are just normal B1 documents. In my example, they would be AR Invoices.

Try this to show it in action using sales. You will create AR Invoices from Deliveries.

      1. Create two item-type Deliveries for two different customers with today's date.

      2. Check the last generated invoice so you know what the next number should be.

      3. Run the Document Generation Wizard.

      4. In step 2, select Target 'AR Invoices' and Items.

      5. In step 3 Base Documents, select Deliveries and a date range of today to get the deliveries that you just created.

      6. In step 4, select 'No Consolidation''.

      7. Select you customers and run the Wizard tthrough to the end selecting 'Execute'.

You should now have two new invoices generatted from your deliveries and your deliveries will be closed.
