SAP CRM, how many different multilevel categorization in one service request

We are using SAP CRM as a platform for quality and technical issues related to our products. We use Service request as the first entry point and have added a lot of information in this transaction type. At the moment we have 5 different multilevel categorizations active in different assignment blocks.

We have now started to improve this document based on business needs and need to add 2 new categorization schema, so in total we will have 7.

Is it possible to have more than 5 and if yes what kind of steps do I need to take? I have done the web ui configuration. The missing part what I can see is the part where I should assign the transaction type to a catalog category to be able to select the application area in the category modeler. Since we already use W, C, D, E and T types there are no one available.

Hi,

I do not have answers to your questions. But I would like to remind you that the existing service requests are still using the old schema. Your change to the schema is not automatically updated in existing serv requests. And thus you need to double check the side-effect to the existing documents.

Hello Spencer,

The old schema will still be used, the thing is that I want to add two new one but it seems that WebUI can't handle this n a good way I'm not able to do the linkage between the schema <-> application area <-> WebUI to allow the users to select values from the schema itself.

If you talk about the version and the release date of a schema and how that affects the existing documents, then I believe I have a good understanding of this behavior already.

Thank you!

Marcus

Hello Marcus,

I attached some screenshots to clarify how the linkage between transaction type and application area. Hope it is clear for you.

As shown below, I configure C and D types for transaction type ZCSR and in Category Schema the entries will be available.

1. Configuration path

2. Assign Transaction Types to Catalog Categories

3. Available in Categorization Schema
