Hi
While opening *.xlsx file for an approver in workitem in sap inbox, the user gets the error 'different format than specified in file extension. Verify if the file is not corrupted'. The user can open the file & data is appearing perfectly fine. However the error message should not appear while opening.
Please suggest a solution.
It’s telling you that the file is not a real Excel spreadsheet, but something else. Open it with notepad and have a look. An xlsx is compressed xml and will appear as garbage.
If Excel is able to interpret the data it will do so and therefore it appears normal.

Hello Mike
The user attaches the excel file for the approver to view in the attachment. The workitem gets triggered. Things are fine until the approver opens the attachment in sap inbox & get the pop up error message.
So the file is an excel sheet. The user uses MS excel of to view the data in it.
Did you try my suggestion? Your response doesn't seem to indicate that you did.
