Client Export

Dear All,

We have done a client Export from the Source System which has the Lastest Patch level for ABAP, BASIS etc.

Now we Installed a New Server (version ECC5). we want to Import the Client Export to the NEW Server

Query is :

Can we Import the Client Export into the Newly Installed Target System. *Eventhough Patch Levels are Different.*

Regards

Shankar.

Hello,

So assuming my source and target Support package levels are different, after successful client Export from source, are both below options are valid:

1. Application of patches on target system to match source system level

2. Client Import

3. SCC7

OR

1. Client Import

2. Application of patches on target system to match source system level

3. SCC7

So, does it mean that SAME support pack level is prerequisites for SCC7 and not for Client import step?

Dear All,

By the Gudience of SDN Experts. i have done the Cleint Export.. Thanks for Support

Information for the user tyring to do Client Export:

We have to MAINTAIN the Same Patch level before doing Import Post-Processing using the T-Code (SCC7) in the Target Client.

Otherwise we land with errors while using the T-Code : SCC7.

Hi Shankar,

It is better to have same patch level. As it may change the cross client data also during your import if you exported them.

Hi Shankar,

You can import client and after import you can update all the patches. After update the patches you can use as usealy there no problem.

Hi Shankar,

It's required to have the same patch level, other wise later it can be a problem.

Hari.
