DTW Opening Balances

Hey guys,

I am having a very difficult time importing my opening balances using the DTW and I need to reach out for help. I seem to have gotten rid of most of the petty errors, but I'm stuck with two main errors.

Since I am trying to upload service documents, I set the document header field DocType to dDocument_Service. If I load the file without the document lines, it tells me that I have an invalid document total. I assume that is just a pointer to the fact that I have not included my document lines which is fine.

If I include my document lines, it tells me that my item no. is missing. At first I thought if I added the column for ItemCode that would take care of it. However, after I added the blank column for ItemCode, the error returned. There is no item no. because it's a service document. How do I get the DTW to understand that?

Thanks,

Kevin Lee

For the Header you will need

    RecordKey, CardCode, DocDate, DocDueDate, DocType

    For the lines

    RecordKey, AccountCode, LineTotal, TaxCode

For each header you will have one line entry

The accountcode for the lines would be the accountcode you will use to balance the transaction. Usually it a 9999 account created in the Equity drawer
