URGENT :PCA with NEW GL Assessment cycle.

Hi All,

This is the issue with PCA Assessment New GL (FAGLGA11),in the Header we need to give one Assessment account and definition says the account should be type 42 secondary cost element, BUT when I see drag n drop (F4) for Assessment Account it is showing only Balance sheet accounts ( which are neither Primary cost element or secondary cost elements according to SAP ) , If I choose from the list of Balance sheets accounts the cycle can be saved and can be executed properly .

if I give any other account other than Balance sheet account it is throwing error message GA130.

But I think according to the field definition Assessment Account, it should be a account of type 42 which is secondary cost element , I still wonder How can be assessment carried out Secondary cost element? Thx

Hi Thank you for the help.

But How can we know that ? where can I see the what ever you said?

The basic purpose of Assessment (in CCA/PCA ,in R/3) , using secondary cost element and now in NEW GL don't we need that? ,

and could you please tell what are the good reports to see the Assessments? other than FS10N?

can we see any report by Profit center sender and receiver?

Thank you ,

I don't have system access for new GL right now since my current project is running on classic GL. But I can tell you from my previous newGL implementation I don't remember the t-code but expand the menu for General Ledger Accounting. There are very few reports under the reporting tree for new GL that are marked as new GL reports. You can run one of the reports based on sender profit center, receiver profit center, company code etc.

Another thing about your question on using secondary cost elements. With the class GL or old GL, assessments are run with secondary cost elements and then you have to run FICO reconciliation ledger to make it equal to FI. The reconciliation ledger passess entries with clearing balance sheet accounts in FI equal to the CO amounts.

With the new GL, the same principle is implemented. So you don't need to run the reconciliation ledger but perform assessment automatically with the balance sheet accounts. The CO side of PCA is no longer available once you activate new GL. The documentation related to this can be found in the new GL implmentation guide under SPRO.

Whatever I told you is based on my newGL implementation project experience.

Hi Sharab,

I really appreciate your detailed explanation.which almost cleared my doubt . last night we gave mail to SAP asking teh same and they said we have to use the P&L or B/S account instead of using Secondary cost elemnt as the PCA is the part FI (with New G/L) .

coming to reports yeah it is not that friendly I can say , we have good reports for Cost center Distribution and Assessment but not for New GL with PCA.I saw some reports in New GL using FS10N, FGI0,FAGLB03,and also with FB03 to see the document posting, which is OK.

Thank you.

Could I please ask you a favour? Is it possible for you to add me to your Gtalk?

Thank you .

The online help for assessment cost element is not updated but in case of new GL, the GL and PCA are completely in one ledger. In classic GL, assessments are run inside CO module using secondary cost elements of type 42. You can ignore the online help for assessment cost element.
