Hi..

Can anyone tell me what is external hierarchy and where is it used.........

    Hi,

    You can imagine External Hierarchy is like a customised hierarchy. Say for example, you can have a material hierarchy grouped by GL Accounts.

    These are BI specific and doesn't appear as a Business content.

    External hierarchy is something that is defined in the datawarehouse and not in the source system and can be changed in the datawarehouse and not in the source whereas the internal hierarchy is cange in the source system and transferred to the datawarehouse.
