No portal desktop is defined for this user

Hello,

I'll try to personalize the default portal desktop but when I save the change of the new theme, I'll receive the following error:

No portal desktop is defined for this user.If this problem persists, contact your system administrator.

I have the super admin role and the eu_role. I don't have changed the default portal desktop, the default framework page and the master rule collection in the PCD.

Someone could help me to apply the new theme?

Thanks in advance

    Hi,

The version of my portal is 7.1 so I assume that patches described in the 2 first notes are included in this version.

Concerning the last note, all possible reasons have been checked and all is ok.

    Have you an other idea?

      Hi Alain,

      Do try this once:

      Enter the portal using:

      http://<server>:<port>/irj/portal

      Enter user + password

After you get the error message-->

On the same browser window , go to

      http://<server>:<port>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.sap.pct!2fevery_user!2fgeneral!2fcom.sap.portal.frameworkpage

This should login you to the portal.

Then you can change the permission for the folder Standard Portal Users and add the group "Everyone" with end user permissions.(This will affect all child objects under this folder and will change permissions for the default desktop object which is hidden object under this folder)

      Hope this helps,

      Regards,

      Shailesh

    Hi Shailesh,

I have already tried this but my problem is not solved with this solution.

Why it doesn't work like in EP6? I must create my own default portal desktop?

    Hi,

First of all, have you contacted your system administrator as the message states 😉

Isn't Portal 7.1 still in rampup? If yes, I would expect some bugs like this and then the best approach is to report them to SAP through OSS support messages.

AFAIK, you've done the setup correct.

    I solve the problem:

System Admin -> Navigation -> Short

URLs: set "use Short URLs' to false and save.

    Clear the navigation cache.

Refresh or start a new browser.
