Hi,

We are actually facing an issue while importing polish characters via BODS.FYI, we are using:

BODS : 4.2 SP8

BODS is associated with our SAP BO 4.2 SP3 FP8 system

Please see details below:

  • Database source JDE

BODS Datastore

NLS Oracle Parameters :

  • Target Database:

BODS Datastore

NLS Oracle Parameters :

  • BODS Server:

Regional Setting

Locale Selector BODS

Problem : Whilst copying from source to target table, some polish characters are not properly imported in

  • Example 1:

Source :

Table F0111

Field WWMLNM NCHAR(40)

Target :

Table ZZ_F0111_TST

Field WWMLNM NCHAR(40)

Field TEST_VAR varchar2(250)

NOTE : The 8th character is changed intoin BODS

  • TEST 2 - We modify the datastore and apply the UTF-8 code page (on the source or target table):

Source :

Table F0111

Field WWMLNM NCHAR(40)

Target :

Table ZZ_F0111_TST

Field WWMLNM NCHAR(40)

Field TEST_VAR varchar2(250)

Le 8th character is preserved for type NCHAR, but lost when using type VARCHAR2.

Thanks for your help,

Sameerah

Hi Sameerah,

try to use NVARCHAR2 for the target table (instead of VARCHAR2).

Best regards

Marcus

The titles of your post may be misleading. Most probably, DS is importing the Polish characters correctly. They're just not written out to the target database. If Marcus' suggestion doesn't work, you may also have to set the code page and server code page in the target datastore settings to utf-8.
