    hi,

You will have to create a source system for the external oracle DB using DBConnect using the shared libraries.

The multi-connect functions that are delivered as a SAP NetWeaver component, allow you to open extra database connections in addition to the SAP default connection, and use these connections to access external databases.

Follow this link for more information.

    Hope this helps, Do reward.

    Hi,

If your R/3 is on Oracle DB and the external DB is an Oracle,

you may try DB Link feature of Oracle RDBMS. Refer to SAP

    Note 25383 for details.

Or else you may try Multi DB Connection feature in R/3.

You will need to add extra DB connection entry in

table DBCON and extra command in ABAP code to access

that extra DB connection. Refer to SAP Note 323151,

    339092, 178949 for details.

    OR

    1. Using transaction SE11, create a table (ZTABLE) with the same fields as the table in the external database, make sure that the type and lengths of the fields are identical.

    2. Using transaction SE11, create a view (ZTABLE_VIEW, projection view) using BASIS table ZTABLE

    3. Using SVRMGRL>

    4. create dblink REMOTE_DB as connect to remote_user identified by password; (database link created)

    drop table ZTABLE; (table dropped)

create synonym ZTABLE for ZTABLE@REMOTE_DB; (synonym created)

    5. Using transaction SE16 , type in ZTABLE_VIEW and hit RETURN

    6. Enter value in key fields and hit execute. (displays rows from the remote table)

    Reward points if helpful....

    Regards

    AK
