Note 995625 - DB2 Everyplace Installation for MI 7.0 SP07 and higher

Dear all,

We need to use Db2 everyplace for MI 7.0 system for one of our clients. I am unable to get exact reason or advantage of using the same in their csenario ? please let me know advantages and disadvantages.

Also I have MI 7.0 neweaver 2004s system running on Win 32 Oracle platform.

Would DB2 everyplace IBM DB2e Version 8.2.4 version will be compatible for my scenario and if yes how to proceed with installation.

Best Regards,

AjitR

    Hi,

cause you install DB2e on the mobile device only, it is not an issue with your landscape. The DB2e is a little faster then FileIO, is a SQL DB so you can access data with SQL queries, is a little more stable and so the client has some benefits in that area.

But cause it only replaces fileIO on the client, it has no further impact. If you run MAM for example, DB2e is recommended, cuse MAM uses some SQL features of DB2e - not available in FileIO.

    Hope that help.

    Regards,

    Oliver

      Hi,

Well, most likely. Cause JSp is a normal Web page - pressing the reight mouse button would give you the window with the ability to save the source code - if you use a HTML page.

If not: well, most likely it is AWT. What APP are you using?

      Regards,

      Oliver
