Hi

We need to mass delete the "Error " BPE Work Items from XI Production Systems

The number are running in to hundreds and manually doing it individually is a cumbersome task.

Can any one please suggest if tis possible to delete the BPE Workitems at once ?

Individually the same can be done by " Logically Deleting " the Workitems,

Useful Links Blogs etc will be appreciated and rewarded

Thanks

Hi,

Messages that are sent through the XI and are adjusted by the ccBPM can be both synchronous and asynchronous origins. Asynchronous messages are already persisted in the integration server and can be archived from there too.

Synchronous messages do not become persisted. Usually, you do not need to store data for this type of interface.

The question arises about whether you can delete the work items or whether they must also be archived.

In most cases, it should suffice to archive the incoming message and the outgoing message for asynchronous messages or to archive the outgoing message for synchronous messages in the sending system. If this should not be sufficient due to legal specifications, the work items can also be archived. Therefore, each change on the message can be reproduced, and not only the incoming and outgoing message are available.

Deleting work items:

You can use the RSWWWIDE report to delete all work items including all attachments and dependent work items.

Since the RSWWWIDE report can also delete work items that do not have a final status, we recommend that you include the selection after the "completed" work item status and also according to the date and "F" work item type. Also select the "top-level work items only" field.

If large numbers of work items must be deleted, you may have to restrict the selection criteria in the RSWWWIDE by specifying smaller date ranges.

Note that if the report is used incorrectly, in a worst case scenario, all work items are deleted in the system. Therefore, always run the report in test mode first!

Archiving work items:

To archive the work items, you use the WORKITEM archiving object in transaction SARA. For more information, also refer to notes 621258 and 736955.

To delete work items using the ADK (Archive Development Kit), you must first create an archive file. The work items saved in this archive file can be deleted in the ADK in a second step. The archiving and deletion of work items using the ADK are described in detail in the online documentation for the workflow.

The history for a work item and the step log for a workflow are deleted automatically when you use the ADK. For consistency reasons, you cannot reload the archived data from the archive into the original database tables because the numbers of the archived work items are used again later and therefore new data could be overwritten with old values during the reloading.
