How Can I Restrict Adding of Delivery items with expired warranty/serial number?

We have a serialized items and some of those has already expired. I want to restrict the users from creating or adding a Delivery which contains expired serial number or warranty via SP_TransactionNotification. But I can't see any relevant topics on where can I link my DR to my selected serial numbers. After I tag the item and clicked Add Button, another window which is the selection of serial number will appear, after I select the serial numbers, it will be back to the Delivery Form. And I cannot see the link between the Delivery Rows and the serial numbers I selected. Therefore, I cannot filter the Item and Serial Number if it is expired or not upon adding the Delivery.
