Inbound Mail Processing

Former Member

I have a external email address that has been routed to port 25000 on my CRM 2007 box. I know that in order for SAP to receive the emails from the external address the inbound processing under trnx SCOT must be configured. Can someone kindly provide the steps or a note or url that give specific details on how to configure the SAP system to retrieve mail from a external address.

Thank you

Hello.

I followed the doc and it looks like there will need to be some configurations done on the network side in order for inbound to work.

I do have a issue however...

The SMTP plugin was working fine. I made a parameter change icm/server_port_2 changing the port from 25000 (which worked fine) to port 25. After making the change to 25 and rebooting the server, I am no longer able to send mail. I restarted the service in SICF and it is active. However when I go to ICM monitor - Service Display - TX SMICM

the SMTP service is no longer active there and will not let me activate. When I go to SOST I can see the outbound test mails errord out.

My question is...After making the parameter change from 25000 to 25, why did this happen? Is there some other changes that are affected that I need to adjust if so what? Is this some port conflict between SAP and sendmail or other?

Please advise any leads would be appreciated.

Check OSS note 546147.

In case your SAP system is running on UNIX refer also to OSS note 421359.
