cant log in, error : partner localhost:sapdp00 not reached

Hi

A have installed netweaver trial version 7.0. Set up completed successfully. MaxDB and sap mamagement console is running finle and SAP GUI is installed. but when i try to log on error comes : partner localhost:sapdp00 not reached.

I have tried n number of things, like changing host file, reinstalling the complete application, creating loop back adapter etc etc mantioned in several threads, but nothing worked. I am running it on windows XP service pack two.

if someone has trial system up and running , please guide me by teling the setting exactly done by you.

I was having this same problem. What worked for me was changing the System Number to 02 instead of 00.

Hi Vishal,

There are many things depends on your issue.

Like make an entry of IP adress of system, gateway and Message server entry in hosts file of our system.

You have to check in log files like system log, server log, application log for more issue.

Check in MMC wheather system is up or not?

Also check more error on /usr/sap/<SID>/DVE../Work/

Here you get many log files just go through it.

Like server0, dispatcher.

Hi Vishal,

After insalling the Loopback assign a static ip to loopback and make the entry in c:\winnt\system32\driver\etc\hosts file

and use this ip in Sap gui and make sure that your firewall are turnoff.
