Datasource wrongly replicated in QA

Dear SDN,

I have below issue, please see if someone can help.

I have created a custom datasource in R3 using a FM. In DEV we replicated that as 3.x as was working fine. I transported the same 3.x datasource from R3 Dev to R3 QA. There it was replicated as 7.0 datasource instead of 3.x. Could you please suggest me how to get rid of the 7.0 datasource in BI QA. Please guide me the steps as this is quite important.

the system should give u an option when replicating - whether you want it to be 3.x or 7.0. select 3.x.

Try going to RSDS and try to restore the datasource back to 3.x. Orelse delete the datasource in BI and re replicate it and select 3.x option

Hi Voodi,

This has happened in QA. So I can't delete there. Its already been replicated as 7.0 where as my dataflow should be 3.x.

Please advise the best approach to change it to 3.x.

I am thinking of deleting in R3 Dev and transport the deleted request which inturn should delete in R3 QA and then redo the one again.

Please advise if this approach works.

Then, you will have to redo from Dev. This time, Remember to replicate as 3.x datasource in the pop-up

We have also had this issue but with BI7 Technical Content. However deleting the offending DataSource and replicating again didn't resolve the problem. It just appeared again as BI7 not even giving us the option to replicate as 3.x.

Can anyone help here ?

You could just delete in that QA system where that datasource is as 7.0 version and replicate again as 3.x datasource.

QA is not open to changes. So it won't allow me to perform any modifications

Well, when you replicated, did you get a pop up to choose the kind of datasource that you want to install it as ???

We have 2 QA systems. My collegue replicated in 1st QA as 7.0 and I have done this as 3.x in second QA. So my 2nd QA is working fine but the 1st one needs the deletion/restoration of 3.x.

Hi,

Thanks for the link. But my issue is in QA. In Dev this was replicated as expected(in 3.x) where as in QA this was wrongly replicated.

So what would be the correct approach to perform the restoring only in QA.

I am just thinking below might work. Please advise.

Situation now :

I have correct 3.x datasource in BI Dev. I have 7.0 datasource in BI QA.

So I go and delete the 3.x ds in BI Dev, which creates a transport which I think deletes the 7.0 ds in BI QA.

Please advise if above scenario works
