Hi Experts

In my new project my client wants to consume all calculation views created in HANA in MS excel directly to create report. They do not want to use any intermediary tools like design studio or WEBI.

I google it and found these two ways of doing it. Such as..

1. Using HANA MDX Provider

2. Using Analysis for Office add on for MS Excel

Now I have two questions

1. What is the best way of achieving my goal

2. Can I use the SQL statement of a particular calculation/analytic view from _SYS_BIC folder to create report directly in MS Excel? If yes then how to do it.

Thanks in advanced.

Hi Indrajit,

for me it's the best way to use the AfO-Add On, this is working fine. You can directly connect to Hana via SAP GUI. You only have to create your Hana Connection in SAP GUI -> Analysis -> Insert Data Source -> Skip -> right mouse click -> create new Hana Connection..

I think it is not possible to create a report directly in Excel, in any case, I have not heard that yet ...

Best regards
