Hi All,

We are implementing xMAM 3.0 and devices are going to be Laptops. I know about the PDA UI (Mobile Client Frame Work) installation. How and where can I get the Laptop UI files. Is procedure same for PDA UI and Laptop UI or different. Please advise me.

Regards,

Ameer.

Hi Ameer,

both laptop and PDA versions (as separate files) of MAM are delivered by SAP via service marketplace.

Customer enhancement concepts, in general, are the same but UI is different - different libarary (SAP Portal look-and-feel) of UI tags is used. As a result PDA and laptop clients look very difefrent, even though processes, business logic, database layer are shared.

Also Laptop version has a new tool, called JSP tool callled JSP Generator (code and documentation included in laptop MAM package) that is used to create jsps from xml file. Essentially all standard jsps are build with this tool, and when application is enhanced it should be used to change existing or creating new customer specific jsps.

Larissa,

Thanks for your quick reply. I have got a doubt after your reply.

Do you mean to say Mobile Client Framework(NWP_WIN32_JSP) for different for PDA and Laptop.

Or do you mean say that the application file xMAM 3.0 is different for PDA and Laptop.Could you through some light on this please.

Hi Ameer,

the client version of MAM is different for PDa and MAM. If you go to service.sap.com/swdc and drill down to Xapps- XMAM3.0 you see one version for PDA and one for PC. Actually you just downloaded the version for PDA I think - so you need to get the version for PC/Laptop s well.

The reason is the different screen size for example. So PDA version is optimized for a small screen, Laptop version for a bigger resolution - beside some other things.

Hope that switches on some lights.
