Automatic Reserve

Can I switch off automatic reserve in workflow customizing? It's extremely annoying that everytime a user clicks a workitem, many times by mistake, the WI is reserved.

Sometimes people forget to return the item to the common box, and the item stays there....

I guess that it is not possible (at least I dont know).

But rather I can suggest to one way to unreserve(replace) it , go to SWIA and get the dialog work item, then using that report you can replace it, it will again get READY status.

    Cheers

The workitem doesn't goes to "Reserve" status until or otherwise the user double-clicks and an action is performed. Again, if by mistake if it happens from the user inbox itself there is an option to replace. Just on the right frame near the execute button.

    • Maybe you figured as much already, but no you can't disable the automatic reserve. The only thing you could do is create a program which gets all the workitems with status reserve, checks the period for which they have been reserved and resets the status to ready using one of the SAP_WAPI FM's. Put this program in a nightly job and your set. This also means off course that all the items which are reserved intentionally will be reset.

Another option is to educate the users.

      Regards,

      Martin

You can make use of SAP_WAPI* Fms to achieve your task but how will you know whether auser has accidentally reserved the workitem or intentionally reserved the workitem for future processing.

    Thanks
