Value BLANK/SPACE is invalid for accnt assignmt element functional area

Hello,

I have activated the Field status variant for Sales Order in the PSM. This has enabled a button in the Account Determination tab in Sales Order Item details wherein I have manually maintained the GL, Functional Area etc. Finally upon doing the doing the PGI for an Outbound Delivery I had some errors. I Got past the error on GL Account Determination in OBYC. It is now displaying the error message "Value BLANK/SPACE is invalid for accnt assignmt element "functional area".

In SPRO, under PSM-->Basic Settings-->Value BLANK/SPACE is invalid for accnt assignmt element "functional area", I have maintained FM Area & year.

Business doesn't prefer FM to be derived automatically as they say there can be many combinations of FA/CC/GL. PGI has to take place using the manually entered values in the Sales Order. Please suggest.

Hi,

What did you put in the customization you have mentioned? Did you set the flag allowing empty value or not? It would be better if you posted a screenshot. Also, set a trace in FMDERIVE transaction and make sure that the value is not empty after you provide the value, as you claim.
