  • If I take the question as is, I would answer why do you want to make such a column redundant in another table !? The classic answer is NEVER DO THAT, use an SQL join to read the data from both tables at runtime !

Of course I totally agree with Sandra. If your question is looking at making redundant fields - it doesn't make sense. If you want to add your own fields to an SAP table - you can do so with append structure.

It's always a good idea to explain as much as you can. If you truly did want to add mara-matnr and makt-maktx together, you may want to read up on data redundancy. If you want to generate a table maintenance and have both - I'd have a different answer. If for some reason you need them both in the same table. (I'm not sure when that would be.) You can create a view. However, I rarely create those unless they are really needed.

Please try to explain a bit more and you would get a better answer. And of course searching first helps. However, I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't find anything on this.

    Hi,

    What is your functional requirement?

What you are proposing is joining 2 tables into the first table with different keys, this is bad practice.

    Kind regards, Rob Dielemans

Create a database view joining marc and makt with the required fields
