Dear all,
I 'm installing IDES 4.7, DB oracle9i, OS windows 2003.
For now, i have installed Window 2003, Java 1.4.2_10, set JAVA_HOME = %jdk1.3.1_20%\bin in system variable, now going to install oracle9i.
For the oracle installation, i double click the file NT->I386->SAPSERVER.CMD from oracle dvd 1. There is a popup command screen and disappear after 2 secs. Nothing was done.
I did search via internet for the similiar case, solution like
1)execute the file in command prompt, 2)make sure there is no space for the directory name and 3)i even had re-installed Window 2003. But problem still persist. Banging my head for searching the solution.
FYI, i did tried to execute SAPSERVER.CMD via DVD, and did copied those Oracle DVD1/2/3 into local drive H:\ and execute SAPSERVER.CMD. But NO luck.
Could you please comment what else should i check/change?
Thanks in advance.
Hai,
Please check whether is the right DVD or not for the oracle9i installation. And also click on the right Processor(I386/IA64/AMD64) for the sapserver.cmd.Check the Processor_architecture first in the environment variables and accordingly click on the right folder for the Oracle installation.
And also if possible, put the java_home directory in the PATH environment variable also.
Thanks and Regards,

Hi,
First check you java path name it should be jdk1.4 as you have installed jdk1.4 but have set it as 13.**.
Then install the oracle using the oracle univeral installer nothing happens, then you start the exe file of sap.

Hi Vamshi,
Thanks for your reply.
For JAVA_HOME should be %j2sdk1.4.2_10%\bin, that was typo in initial post.

May i know what do you mean by "start the exe file of sap"? Could you please further elaborate? Do u mean I have to skip the oracle installation and goto SAP installation?
Please comment.
Corection:
The JAVA_HOME system variable should be
JAVA_HOME = %j2sdk1.4.2_10%\bin
