Hi Techies

We have MDM 5.5 sp06 ,oracle and solaris 10 env .

what are the basis related activities we can perform on MDM like

1.Archive and Unarchive repository

2.creating users and roles in the Admin node

3.implementation of patches

and I assume

1.How to monitor the memory utilised by MDM server

2 How to monitor the Response times or performance

3 Daily and weekly monitoring/maintanence of MDM servers

Plz clarify on the last three points and suggest if there are any other activities .

Thanks in Advance

Haroon Khavi

Hi,

1.How to monitor the memory utilised by MDM server

Use Task Manager of Windows (we used) or advanced featues (I dont know)

2 How to monitor the Response times or performance

You can refer to the logs.

3 Daily and weekly monitoring/maintanence of MDM servers Monitoring is required daily/weekly as per the load frequency and urgency. YOu shud check if all the file are imported correctly.

Maintenance is not required until upgrade (patches, hotfixes).

Hope this helps,

Hello Haroon,

Here is the ans: CCMS Monitoring.

You can configure the CCMS monitoring for your MDM System the you can monitor your MDM System like Different MDM Servers monitoring, performance monitoring, repository monitoring, operating system related information, log file monitoring etc....

you can refer the following link for installation guides:

https://websmp108.sap-ag.de/installMDM

go to operation section, there you can download the installation guides for CCMS Monitoring name as "MDM 5.5 - Monitoring Guides"

Hope this will help you.

Hi Haroon,

One more activity I would like to suggest is

Master/Slave Concept in MDM:

In which case Master is the original copy and Slave is just the readonly copy of the Master repository.

All the Data management activities are carried out in the Master repository.

The basis activity according to me is when to Synchronize the slave repository.
