Archivation of documents (Invoice) and search

I would like to understand if the archivation of documents is automaticly set up in SAP and if yes for how long. And if not what need to be done to set it up?

And also to understand how those documents can be searched - by date for example.

Hi,

from DMS point of view there is no automatic archiving step designed.

If you want to archive document info records you can use the archiving object CV_DVS. For further information please read through https://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/f1/04dd5321e8424de10000000a174cb4/frameset.htm
