What is the difference between S/4 hana on Azure and S/4 hana Cloud?

We are planning to deploy the latest version of S/4 hana in Azure cloud. However, I am a bit confused on what version will I deploy since there is 1711 which is a S/4 hana cloud and 1709 which is on premise but can be hosted in a private cloud platform like azure.

2. Will it have the same innovations / SAP HANA Cloud 1909?

Hi Cindy

1709 is the latest annual release of S4 HANA that is capable of being installed into other cloud providers such as Azure. These are released once per year and it is similar to a Platform as a Service

1711 is the latest quarterly release of the S/4HANA Cloud. Innovations are released here each quarter and this is our public cloud offering, this contains best practice and is equivalent to a Software as a Service offering. You can't host this yourself as it runs from the SAP Cloud.
