Just an FYI.

Work center has no impact on the authorization for the UD. The UD is typically controlled through a combination of the QM Mtrl authorization Group that is defined in the material master on the QM view and the UD transactions such as QA11, QA12. The mtrl authorization group is then assigned to the role. If you have three mtrl authorization groups, you would have three roles. Each role assigned to a different mtrl group. The roles are assigned then to the users as needed. Just one role, two of the roles, or all three roles if you want for instance a quality director or supervisor to have access to all three groups for UD's

The work center is maintained at the operation level in the plan and can be used to control who can record results within an operation.

I'm not an expert on security. But the users within their roles, are usually by default assigned * for work center under the various transactions. this needs to be changed to the individual work centers you want them to have access to. Again, if you use multiple work centers, you would probably have multiple roles.

Any decent security consultant should be able to figure out the process.
