to control authorization via query or via pfcg?

Hello Authorization gurus,

I have a nav attr in the query.

This attr needs to be authorization-restricted for users.

Authorization is created in the system for char A__B (nav attr B is based on characteristic A).

Since it is not possbile to create authorization variable on this attribute in the query, how can I effect this authorization ?

Is it effective if I just create the authorization and set the values and put it into PFCG without any setting in the query?

If I have assigned 2 users different values for the authorization, does it mean when user 1 execute the query, he can see his authorized values only while the other user likewise only his authorized values?

Please kindly confirm for me if this understand is correct. Thanks!!

Best regards
