ESS modification query

Hello All,

I have modified the standard ESS DC's and transported using the JDI track. Everything is working fine. Now, we noticed that the portal server is showing SAPPCUI_GP 600 SP0

SAP_ESS 600 SP0 instead of SAPPCUI_GP 600 SP10 & SAP_ESS 600 SP10. Since I haven't modified any MSS DC's it is still showing as SAP_MSS 600 SP10.

SAP has come up with hotfixes to fix development issues in the ESS/MSS BP. The problem is after modifying ESS DC's now the system isn't recognizing the old ESS SCA's when we tried to apply the new hotfixes using JSPM. If we apply, all ESS modification will be overwritten. Does that mean , I need to create new MSS/ESS track incase of even applying hotfixes too and redo all modification again. Is there some other approach?

Secondly, we plan to upgrade our portal from EP7 SP12 to SP14 and JDI from SP12 to SP14 soon. Do I still need to create a new JDI ESS/MSS track even though I don't have any more changes in the ESS/MSS so as to make it at par with SP14. If I do that I need to create new activities and again transport the changes across the landscape. Is this how ESS/MSS would work?

Your input would be highly appreciated.

Thanks & Kind Regards,
