external rework spare parts

Hi all,

we have a little issue in our spare parts warehouse where we do not know how to handle it properly in SAP.

From time to time we need to send some parts for rework to a supplierand then put on stock again. However I am wondering which process in SAP needs to be used in order to get the parts out of stock and in stock when the rework is finished.

As we had an urgent case, our purchasers have simply created a return po to the supplier and a new po to get it back in stock when finished. However the purchase price on the new PO was equivalent to the rework costs. Those costs where much lower than the value in the return po. That resulted in that our moving average went down. Then our IT recommended to simply adjust the mvg average price via MR21. I cannot explain why, but for me the correction via MR21 sounds not as the correct way to reverse the incorrect handling of our purchasers. Do you have a solution for this.

Thank you in advance

    Hi,

Subcontracting process in MM plays a major role in this scenario.
