SAP My Inbox 2.0, openMode=embedIntoDetails

Is it possible to use openMode=embedIntoDetails for an OpenUI5 app using applications of types:

  1. SAP Fiori App using LPD_CUST (application Type = URL, with System Alias)
  2. URL

I have it working for application type SAPUI5 Fiori App, so I know that works. I can also get SAP Fiori App using LPD_CUST with openMode=external.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Tim

    Hi Tim,

If you want to run a Fiori app in standalone mode, there are certain apps which has this feature, you can use them without launchpad.

Launch the following URL in your browser:

    https://<Server>:<Port>/sap/bc/ui5_ui5/ui2/ushell/shells/abap/FioriLaunchpad.html?sap-client=<Client>#Shell-runStandaloneApp?sap-ushell-SAPUI5.Component=cross.fnd.fiori.inbox&sap-ushell-url=/sap/bc/ui5_ui5/sap/ca_fiori_inbox&<other URL parameters>

Also openMode=external is nothing but the app navigation from My inbox, you can open the app without My Inbox header and footer.

embedIntodetails will show the new ui5 app inside the Myinbox area, whereas external will open in headerless URL.

Check attachment in this note for complete understanding.

    • embedIntodetails does not work for the following "Application Types" (configuration within Tile Target Mapping).

      1. SAP Fiori App using LPD_CUST
      2. URL
      3. Transaction
      4. Webdynpro

It does work for Application Type

      • SAPUI5 Fiori App

You might ask why launch anything but SAPUI5 Fiori App within the details. Answer:

      • We have java apps written for some workitems (URL)
      • We have OpenUI5 apps written for some workitems (SAP Fiori App using LPD_CUST)
      • We have plenty of Webdypro apps written for Tasks (Webdypro)

So, the question remains... has anyone gotten one of the first four "Application Types" to launch as embedded? I am most interested in 1 and 2, as these apps (in our case) are OpenUI5 apps.

      Thanks,

      Tim
