hi

User status

A status set by the user to complement the system status for a given status object.

You can use only a user status belonging to a status profile (defined in Customizing) and assigned to the relevant status object.

User statuses enable you to extend the control of business processes managed by the system status. You can set and delete user statuses manually when carrying out business transactions

Either you can use System status or User status

If you want to define your own user status like Equip installed,Equipment in production,Equipment dismantled etc you can define here and assign the business transaction allowed for your status

first define the status profile and assign these profile to different object type (like equipment, order ,operations etc)

In the status profile you can

define your own statuses (user statuses) and document their function in a respective long text

determine the statusnumbers for user statuses which predefine the possible sequence for processing user statuses

define an initial status which is activated automatically when creating the object

determine which user status is automatically activated when carrying out a business transaction

define which operations are allowed or prohibited if a certain status is active

hi

kindly refer the following link

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/ee/41f7d446ee11d189470000e829fbbd/content.htm

Lowest Number

Status A has status number 30 and the 'lowest status number' 10. Status B has status number 40 and the 'lowest status number' 20.

Once status B was active for the object, only statuses with numbers 20 or higher may be activated, even if status A is currently active.

However, if status B has never been active, statuses with status numbers 10 or higher may be activated if status A is currently active

Highest Number

Examples

Status A has the status number 30 and the 'highest number' 50.

If status A is active, only statuses with status numbers 50 or less can be activated.

Here are some key status tables:

JEST - Object Status

JCDS - Change Documents for Statuses

JSTO - Status Object Information

JCDO - Change Documents for Status Objects

TJ02 - System Statuses

TJ03 - Object Types

TJ04 - Status Control for Object Type

TJ20 - Status Profiles

TJ30 - User Statuses

Just to add in your valuable info on table...

TJ02T - Text for system status

TJ30T - Text for user status.

Many "check" tables (like TJ02 and TJ03) also have text tables as you've mentioned. You can easily find a text table for another table by going to "goto --> Text table" (not to mention that they're usually suffixed with a "T" anyway).
