How does a xMII user change their password in V12?

Since the MII 11.5 Change Password jsp page link is gone, this would only be possible through NetWeaver UME. If your password is reset by an Administrator and you are provided with an initial one, the login page will give the user the ability to change it. I assume this is also only relevant for non-LDAP users.

I'm having the same problem. We have a policy that users have to change their passwords within 30 days.

I'm still trying to get it to work - but here is a link to the SAP help that I am using. If you find a solution please post it. If I get this working I'll come back and post.

Thank you!

OK, I'm going to hold off on points for this one for now.

You must understand that we have an SAP landscape where I maintain no less than 6 passwords (as a developer) in addition to any other systems that don't use NT authentication.

So when our security policy mandates a password change every 3 months or so, many users tend to take that opportunity to change passwords in all systems they have access to (as do I). So they expect to be able to trigger it without contacting SAP Security.

Isn't there some way we can trigger the UME to present the change password screen, as it does when an initial password is set?

You can set up the Security Policy within the UME as well.Check out "Password Validity Period".

I haven't completely implemented yet, but it looks like you can expose a button on the NW 2004s logon screen that will allow a user to reset their password. It involves answering some questions followed by an e-mail with a temporary password, that must be changed at the next login.
