CRM 2007 ApplicationServer Java

Hello all

Per the master guides SAP mentions that we need AS Java only if we use web channel and Product configuration. In our business process we have no use of these for now but do have heavy custom Java IPC routines. I understood from the guides that for IPC including java code we only need AS ABAB. Is this correct? or do we still need to add AS Java for all of custom CRM JAVA pricing to work?

Please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks

Jai

CRM Pricing and java exits are handled by the VMC(t-codes: SM52/SM53) and not the J2EE engine. You'd need J2EE for CRM Java components, but not for pricing. So, technically, it is possible to run CRM with just the ABAP stack.

Thanks. Thats what my thoughts were as well as SAP clearly mentions that JAVA AS is needed only for Web channel and Product configurator.

So even if we have JAVA pricing, even then we can just use ABAB AS.

Thanks

Jai
